there are plentiful studies that show that fiction affects reality. that’s why positive representation matters, too.
there are also studies that show that being exposed to porn makes the viewer become desensitized to sexual violence and violence against women. that’s why no more studies are being conducted about porn; because of the damage it caused to the participants. porn, too, is fictional.
there’s a logical conclusion to draw about the exposure to (not to mention, creation of) ~fictional~ pedophilia and rape as a hobby
I understand the second part of your post, but I don’t understand what enjoying Harry Potter as an adult has to do with this.
it’s a fictional book series that had such a giant impact that people (who claim not to be affected by fiction and others) still blog about it on a regular basis a decade later
