antithesis: the most annoying time of year is when high schools teach kids about the crucible and every single argument on tumblr turns into half baked salem witch trials comparisons. even like, voltron shipping discourse.

synthesis: tumblr is an accessible, if not especially useful or constructive, outlet for young people to exercise critical thinking, albeit in the limited capacity that critical thinking is taught in public schools. also you get a lot less bugged by tumblr arguments once it is revealed that everyone who argues about things on tumblr is actually sixteen years old.
